Stimulus plan with school aid advances

The economic recovery / stimulus plan made its way through multiple House committees this week, with a full House vote on tap for next week as well as Senate committee action. All signs continue to point toward completion of the bill by mid-February. As we previously noted, school construction funds and emergency education aid to states and districts remain a key component in the plan.

Wondering what the stimulus bill would mean for your school district? Kudos to Chairman George Miller and the staff of the House Education and Labor Committee, which has posted a helpful outline by the Congressional Research Service showing what every school district in the country can expect. You can search by state instead of wading through dozens of pages. Note that these figures are estimates only and based on current language.
