Today we thank the men and women who serve our country in peacetime and in war. Veteran’s Day originally was Armistice Day — the official end of World War I and was meant to honor the veterans of that war.
The holiday has since been broadened to include all veterans, including those serving in the current war, now in its sixth year.
The Iraq war has taken a toll on the children of these men and women, and schools around country, espeically those near military bases, have stepped in. Read our May 2008 articles on schools helping children cope with long deployments and the other stresses they face.

Everyone should take time today to thank those who fought for our country both past and present. Without them we would not live in the world we do today.
It’s unfortunate to see what’s happening to some of our soldiers and the incident at Fort Hood. The soldiers need our help and support. I keep reading and hearing about all of the stress that they’re being put under and I wonder how they’re coping. I also did some research to see what services are out there and even in a tough economy, companies like Prescription Audio are offering a free PTSD audio therapy download for 225,000 soldiers. This is incredible and I hope that with their marketing efforts, that soldiers everywhere have the opportunity to take advantage of it. Please feel free to spread the word and let’s do what we can to help and support: http://www.prescriptionaudio.com/pages/ptsd
