“Colleges, Awash in Applications, Turning Away Even Top Students”

The headlines are stark. Anxiety levels are sky-high. But the thousands of high school seniors sending off college applications right now might be surprised to learn it is no more difficult to get into college than it was a decade ago. Although some schools have gotten harder to get into–including a number of state flagship institutions– overall it is no more difficult for the average high school graduate to get into a good college today than it was in the early 1990′s.
